Shopping Has Begun!
We decided to strike while the iron was hot (or at least while there were great sales!) and have purchased our crib, changing table and crib bedding.
Shopping for crib bedding with Dave was quite...interesting. So many options are either "boy" or "girl" and since Dave is convinced that we are having a boy, he was ready to buy the bedding that was adorned with trucks and bulldozers. Although I thought it was absolutely adorable, I was a bit concerned about a girl occupying a crib with trucks. He explained that if we wound up having a girl, she'll be a modern woman and would be okay with trucks and bulldozers! Luckily, we were able to settle on something a little more "gender-neutral"!! Ramblings from the Father-to-be
I decided it was time that I put a few thoughts up on this blog. Its been about 2 months since I first learned that a big change was coming in my life, so I’ve had a little time to digest this whole concept of a baby (boy??) cruising around the Heronemus household.
I’m excited, and surprisingly rather reflective about how quickly the world seems to be passing by, it seems like just yesterday that Nancy and I first met and she almost wrote me off because she didn’t think I had enough money to fix my muffler (little did she know how much I paid for that Borla exhaust!). And now she’s having my baby!
Its really brought me back to my childhood thinking about all those great memories, and all those people who helped shape me into who I have become (at least you all gave it your best shot!)
I’m a little in awe that I will be spending the next 10-20 years imparting my experiences and wisdom (okay, maybe it won’t take that long!) to my child. Anyway, I didn’t mean for this too be so reflective, I’m off to read up on all the secrets of being a great Dad!

Finally Able to Share our News!
Wow! It's been a long 8 weeks keeping this news on the "down-low"...we're so happy to finally be able to share the news with everyone.
We initially informed family and a few close friends after our first doctor's visit (at 6 weeks/5 days) when we were able to see the heartbeat on the ultrasound. Telling my mom and Phil was priceless! We would have loved to tell them in person but couldn't wait that long. My mom's reaction? "Thank You, Thank You, Thank You"!!! Do you think she was anxious to be a grandmother?!?
So far, all is well with the pregnancy and I haven't been sick (thankfully!). I've been very tired, but that seems to be getting a bit better. I also have NO interest in most of our favorite ethnic cuisines and that is driving poor Dave nuts. I'm sure the staff at our favorite Mexican joint is wondering where on earth we have been considering we used to be there 2 to 3 times/week prior to my ethnic food aversion. We are both hoping this is not a permanent change in my food preferences!
The most popular question we are being asked right now? "Are you going to find out what you're having?" We've actually decided to wait and be surprised in the delivery room. This is driving "Grandma Suzy" a bit crazy as she would like the early confirmation that it's a girl so that she can start shopping for girl outfits!
